Forgot to tell you, I escaped the cold!

I forgot to tell you all that I am away this week for work, visiting all of my lovely clients in far north Queensland! It was only three days ago I was complaining about how cold it is and now I am in the beautiful and balmy north where it is currently 28 degrees and sunshiny, it never disappoints!
So since I am all sunshine, beaches and rainforest I thought why not look at some fabrics that can evoke that nautical/coastal/tropical feeling back home!

This style makes me think of two of my dearest friends Scott and McCall who both love this tropical/coastal look and are in the process of creating homes full of fun, light and colour, this post is dedicated to you!

I love fabric! I have boxes of it! Okay I lie, I have boxes, drawers and under bed hidey holes full of it. Little scraps, big pieces, meter rolls, I lay my eyes on it and it’s as if it speaks to me and says ‘Amey when I grow up I want to be a contrast piped wing chair’ ridiculous but true.

The catch is my hidey holes are quickly filling and I am now at the point of sneaking them into the house past my husband so something had to happen, hence the birth of Bobbin Scissors Thread. A place for me to live vicariously through others beautiful use of fabrics in spaces across a myriad of styles I have a fondness for, whilst at the same time inspiring others to look at fabric in a different light.

Fabric, it’s the one thing each and every one of us handles
every day, unless of course you have a fetish for leather clothing, plastic shrink wrapped furniture, and a failure to put sheets on your bed.

If you’re not one of the later you wear it, sleep in it, dry yourself with it and look at it within your home amongst a million other things you do day to day where you come into contact with it.

This blog is dedicated to fabric. In particular fabric within our homes, the incredible impact it has in transforming our spaces, its practical uses and it’s most lavish, sourced from around the world.
